Lansing Driftless Area Visitors Center

This is a new attraction for Lansing that is conveniently located just 3/4 mile south of Main Street, right on the scenic River Road. If you get to Lansing, this is free and the nicest visitor center within in a hundred miles! Plan on a great day shopping in Lansing, dining in one of five restaurants and of course, you can stay at The Thornton House Bed & Breakfast and wake up to a great help yourself breakfast! At the Driftless Area Visitor Center, visitors can tour the property and view the interpretive and dimensional displays housed at the center which cover topics such as geology, limnology (rivers/streams), archeology, wildlife studies, river town industries and economies, American Indian cultures and more. The Center will provide meeting and office space for public use, classrooms and group learning areas, multiple observation decks, and more. So come join us and explore the Driftless Area up close.
